Accelerated reader or AR is the reading program our school uses to track student reading progress. It is simple to use. Students take a STAR reading test every quarter. Their results give students a reading range: lowest reading level and highest reading level. Students have point goals based on their reading levels.  Students should pick books in these levels to improve their reading skills.

The library books at our school are labeled with a color sticker. The color stickers indicate the level of the intended book. Using these stickers, students can independently find books in their reading ranges. After a student finishes a book, the student has to take an AR quiz to get credit for reading the book. If a student passes the quiz, students get points for reading and passing the quiz for a book.
